About the Nominee: In her role the school counselor to over 500 culturally diverse and economically challenged students, Becky Edds has encouraged, motivated and made it possible for students to succeed. She monitors social and academic progress of her students with great success and the connections she makes with them are remarkable. Students come to school because she is there. They know she will inspire them to get the best grades they can, make good choices and be thriving young adults. Mrs. Edds has helped plan and arrange school community activities such as: Challenge Day, Financial Aide Night, Eighth Grade Family Orientation and United 4 Change. She also works closely with students and parents on a personal level. She provides a tremendous amount of support for personal issues, social concerns and conflict resolution for students. Students and parents know that Becky Edds will listen, not judge and support their concerns and needs.
